Hanö fyr
Hanö is a small island off Listerlandet, and the lighthouse stands on its highest point. You take the ferry from Nogersund, about 20 minutes, and then walk up through the woods. It isn’t far, but it’s uphill and rocky in places, so wear proper shoes.
At the top it’s mostly wind and sea. On a clear day you can see far out over Hanöbukten and back towards the mainland.
Good to know
- The ferry runs several times a day in summer and less often the rest of the year. Check the timetable before you set off.
- There’s a small harbour by the ferry stop with a café that’s open in summer.
- Fallow deer roam the island freely, and you’ll probably see a few.
- Plan for half a day, including the boat.
Our take
We like it best on a windy day in early autumn, when the ferry is quiet and you have the path mostly to yourself. It’s a good trip if you enjoy walking and don’t mind the weather. If you’re after a beach day, there are better places nearby.
